ClickargoSG

ClickargoSG, a digital logistics platform developed by GUUD Singapore, promotes the digitalization of the logistics sector using technology. ClickargoSG digitalizes the last mile delivery ecosystem and spearheads the drive towards net zero carbon emission.

GUUD understands customers’ sustainability goals and has developed a strategy that achieves this. A key solution is the real time carbon emission tracking of clients’ fleets, and the behavioural patterns that cause this, providing insights and ways to reduce it. The Electric Vehicle leasing module allows access to cost effective EV solutions – a major step towards the nation’s target towards Net Zero carbon footprint.

Driving Towards a Sustainable Future for Singapore & Beyond

The Singapore Green Plan 2030 aims to electrify our vehicle population, and help Singapore achieve the vision of 100% cleaner energy vehicles by 2040. SC Auto and Volvo Singapore collaborated to introduce viable electric buses as part of the sustainable land transport solutions for Singapore.

Together the partners designed, engineered, and developed the SC Neustar City-Volvo BZL Electric city bus with three doors, zero steps and a full low floor, meeting the unique operating conditions of Singapore. The design focuses on Quality, Safety, Durability, and Sustainability.

The first EV prototype bus was successfully produced in SC Auto’s Singapore plant after an intensive 12 months of joint R&D activities. It was delivered to Land Transport Authority for trial operation in January.

 

WaveScan Technologies Pte. Ltd. + Housing & Development Board
AI-Powered 3D Imaging Technology for Structural Inspections

This project, supported by Enterprise Singapore under HDB’s Cool Ideas Enterprise, focuses on WaveScan’s scanner technology advancement towards deployment in various structural inspection use cases within HDB estates. These technology developments include system integration and on-site test-bedding of the scanners into two robotic platforms – robotic arm for indoor inspections and wall-climbing robot for exterior facade inspections.

The focus is to detect objects and building defects that are embedded and not visible such as rebar corrosion, concrete spalling, cracks and voids, delamination in facades, water leakages, etc. Through extensive data collection, they built a comprehensive defects database and advanced our AI algorithms to filter 3D images and tag defects, which are exported into reports from the defect management software residing in cloud.

Future of Work at BASF in Singapore

BASF in Singapore has implemented employee engagement initiatives since 2017 to enhance collaboration.

This further leverages on the diversity and passion of the employees and shifts the organization to be more future ready. Furthermore, this embraces the organization’s corporate values that define how they interact with the society, partners and with each other, where Creative, Open, Responsible and Entrepreneurial behaviours are encouraged.

Enhancing management visibility, introducing employee volunteering and Employee Resource Groups were some of the initiatives implemented. To facilitate open communication and new ways of working, they relocated to a new office in 2023, offering activity-based workspace with more flexibility and collaboration opportunities.

Building a Winning Global Team for a White Ink Plant

There are only two HP sites in the world making digital ink for worldwide consumption and it is critical for the two ink plants to manufacture the same ink for their customers. Their strategy is One Plant One Team as they strive to leverage and converge to bring maximum value and highest quality to the customers.

Some key focus areas included collaborative leadership, having common objectives and shared goals, working on joint projects, creating worldwide forums in the Management, Engineering and Technical levels, sponsoring exchange programs and visits, setting up one-to-one meetings at managerial levels.

With this in mind, GESS reached out to corporate entities and organizations to work alongside with them in creating a new domain of additional opportunities and exposure for their students, beyond their classroom walls. The BeyondClassrooms programme is an enabler for GESS students to discover interests, talents, and possibilities, and to gain real-life experience empowering them to make informed decisions for their future.

World’s First Circular System for Food Packaging & Food Waste

TRIA, KFC Singapore (KFC SG), and Yara International (Yara) have launched the world’s first organic recycling pilot to transform single-use packaging and food waste into farm-ready fertilizers. TRIA’s closed-loop solution utilizes breakthrough technologies to create an end-to-end system, starting from bio-based packaging supply to collecting waste for organic recycling and turning it into fertilizers. KFC SG, known for its environmental sustainability efforts, aims to close the loop on single-use packaging and promote a circular food system. Yara, a key partner, contributes by extracting industry-standard fertilisers from the compost with low carbon footprint and ensuring quality and nutrient content.

TEE-Up Career Collabs

This TEE-Up (Talent Engagement Ecosystem) initiative re-imagines the critical school-to-work transition and brings together Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) and Industry to prepare young adults to navigate the world of work.

Prudential, Singapore Polytechnic and Nanyang Polytechnic, have collaborated to provide IHL students with exposure and access to a range of learning and work opportunities. Youth are educated about the future of work and become better connected with industry, while the respective brands can increase mindshare, leading to better commercial and educational outcomes. Inspired by the success of this collaboration, other IHLs and companies are also starting to join the TEE-Up movement.

Carbon Management Solutions Pte. Ltd. + Equatorial Marine Fuel Management Services Pte. Ltd.
A Technical Solution for the Decarbonization of Bunker Fuel

This collaboration aims to introduce a technical solution as a decarbonization service to offset bunker fuel by utilizing carbon credits procured by CMS. CMS and Equatorial collaborated to decarbonize Equatorial’s fuel for ships that operate within Singapore. This platform digitizes both the commodity and carbon credits, combining them into one asset, Decarbonized Bunker Fuel. Stored in CMS’s digital registry, the asset’s carbon profile transfers with ownership.

The solution, still in its early stages, aims to bolster commodity provenance data collection and enable differentiated carbon offsetting. Though currently focused on Singapore, the project has potential for wider application.

 

EVCo + Singapore Environment Council
EVCo-SEC Decarbonization Sustainability Collaboration

EVCo is working with SEC to develop a Decarbonization Framework project that accurately assesses and reports carbon emissions savings by converting commercial fleets from Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles to Electric Vehicles (EVs). They apply this framework across multiple industries, to value-add to their clients’ fleet electrification process.

Re-purposing of Spent Barley Grains into Protein Fibre ingredients for Human Nutrition

KosmodeHealth repurposes food processing wastes into functional ingredients for human nutrition. Spent Barley Grains (SBG) is a waste-stream of malt extracts production in Nestle’s factory. Nestlé R&D Centre collaborated with KosmodeHealth to explore the potential of increasing the nutritional profile of Nestlé products with Protein/Fibre extracted from their SBG. KosmodeHealth has demonstrated that the extracted Protein/Fibre can be formulated into functional foods for diabetes management. The supply of SBG by Nestlé has enabled KosmodeHealth to develop and launch W0W(R)noodle, a high protein and fibre noodle that does not elevate blood sugar level, a functional food for diabetes and weight management.

Singapore’s First Hybrid Wind Farm Crew Transfer Vessel

This collaboration involved the combined expertise of a ship builder and energy management solutions provider to deliver the first Singapore-built hybrid powered Wind Farm Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) for a renowned CTV operator in Europe.

Strategic Marine and Sea Forrest joined forces to revolutionize the marine industry with their respective expertise in aluminium fast craft and energy management solution to jointly develop eco-friendly vessels and sustainable shipping practices.
